Senior Vice President of Tax, North America

Our client, a world leader in their industry is seeking a new Senior Vice President of Tax to lead their North American operations.  The North American operations account for approximately 2/3’s of the company’s global revenue and therefore is an integral part of the organization.  This company is in a planning transformation mode and this new leader will be a very important part of the future for this company.  We are seeking the right candidate that would be enthusiastic about the following:

  • Be a key member of the tax department leadership team and play a pivotal part in an ever changing and evolving culture.
  • Report to and partner with a global head of tax in the UK, who is a strong leader in the tax area and leads a well-respected function in the organization.
  • Build a new team of your own in tax, as well as setting up new US tax management processes.
  • Work for a company that places tax high on the strategic agenda and wants to build a world class tax department.

 

 Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 15 years of tax experience with several of those in a strong leadership position.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance and CPA.
  • Advanced degree in tax or JD with emphasis in corporate taxation.
  • Proven leadership and strong people management experience.
  • Relevant experience gained in an international organization.
  • Strong technical tax knowledge across a broad range of domestic and international tax areas.
  • Ability to explain complex tax principles to non-tax senior management.
  • Ability to successfully negotiate with other parties in a transactional environment.
  • Able to assess alternative strategies in terms of benefits and risks, select the most appropriate strategy and implement it.
  • Able to use knowledge of business situations to identify creative/innovative opportunities to create value.
  • Ability to effectively lead the North American tax team to ensure the maximum value is provided to the organization.
