Primary Responsibilities:

•Manage workflow and supervise tax department staff with regard to sales and use tax compliance, including original preparation.

•Review reconciliation of sales and use general ledger accounts

•Review and revise sales and use tax system, including Vertex functionality, policies and procedures for all departments involved in the process

•Approve and update exemption certificates as needed.

•Manage sales tax voluntary disclosure process for acquired companies

•Review customer contract language that may have indirect tax implications

•Team with the Accounting department to develop a system for capturing and reporting use tax liability

•Responsible for all sales and use tax audits

•Handle notices and communications from tax authorities

•Identify, define, evaluate and implement new processes and systems to improve efficiency of department and company process related to sales and use tax

•Tax research and special projects

•Responsible for all new implementations of Vertex

•Testing of Vertex when new laws or functionality occurs

•Provide guidance to purchasing, account payable, order management, and accounts receivable department to reduce future audit assessments as well as sales and purchase tax discrepancies.

Other duties may be assigned.


•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

•6+ years of experience in general technology platforms and sales tax matters.

•Knowledge of SAP and Vertex

•Communicates clearly, credibly, persuasively and with appropriate frequency
