ITQCS Senior Consultant (Tax)


Deloitte Tax LLP (Deloitte Tax) helps companies understand national, state and local, and international tax structures and align the tax function with business objectives.

Our International Tax Quantitative Consulting Services (“ITQCS”) practice provides technology assisted services to our multi-national clients using internally developed tools and processes to be leveraged in our Tax Consulting practice.  We are currently seeking qualified individuals to join Deloitte Tax in our ITQCS national practice.  Our principal areas of focus are project management and modeling of 

 

  • Accounting for Income Taxes (FAS 109 and FIN 48)
  • Global restructuring, repatriation and M&A
  • Foreign Tax Credit planning
  • Earning and Profits (historical studies and projections)
  • Tax law changes
  • International Tax Process improvements, and
  • Other areas effecting tax 

Successful candidates will have an opportunity to develop a variety of tax technical and information technology skills.  Technology skills can include some or all of the following:  C#, .NET, SQL Server, VBA, Advanced Access and Excel programming, VSTO, and XML. This position involves combining both tax technical and technology skills to bring new and innovative processes and solutions to our clients in order to help them manage their multi- national tax function.

 

We currently have a career opportunity for a Tax Senior in our IT.QCS practice, a national group within our ITTP practice. The individual will report directly to the national and regional leaders of the IT.QCS practice. The focus of the IT.QCS group is to assist companies in determining, reporting and managing their U.S. tax attributes using quantitative analysis and modeling related to their international operations. IT.QCS projects include those involving:

·         Attributes (e.g., earnings & profits, tax basis, foreign tax credit);

·         Modeling (e.g., efficiency, transactional, legislative, controversy); and

·         Provision (e.g., process, remediation).

 

Responsibilities:

 

Work with the national and regional IT.QCS leaders, others in the IT.QCS group and local office teams in the design and execution of complex IT.QCS projects with significant clients of Deloitte Tax, LLP. Projects will include assisting clients with U.S. international information reporting, computing U.S. tax attributes related to international operations, modeling the impact of proposed U.S. international tax legislation, and advising clients on improvements to their tax provision process.  Responsibilities also include, assisting in the advancement of the IT.QCS practice including the development, enhancement, and implementation of new and existing quantitative tools and processes.

 

·         a bachelor’s degree in accounting, computer science, information systems or a related field and approximately 3 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree in law or tax and approximately 2 years of related work experience;

·         excellent quantitative and modeling skills;

·         excellent project management skills combined with interest and experience in process improvement and efficiency;

·         excellent managerial, organizational, technology and verbal/written communications;

·         CPA certification or Enrolled Agent certification is a plus;

·         preferred experience in modeling quantitative attributes around foreign tax credits; and
