Internship Program

 

TheDeloitte Tax LLP summer internship provides an introduction to tax. Throughout the program, participants will focus on issues shaping and affectingthe profession today as well as topics related to their own career development.Counseling is another aspect of the Internship Program.  At the end ofeach engagement, interns will have the opportunity to review their performancewith management.  Additionally, staff will serve as “counselors”to this year’s intern group.  Counselors serve as a vital source ofinformation and advice as well as participating in many of the socialactivities planned for the interns throughout their internship.


Mentor Program

TheMentor Program is a multi-session summer program for selected students thathave demonstrated exceptional leadership skills combined with strong academicperformance. Meetings will occur in an appropriate timeframe that will allowstudents to accept summer internships elsewhere.  All formal sessions willbe held in a local Deloitte office.  During these sessions, students willparticipate in workshops and team activities geared towards bringing out theleadership skills and potential of each participant.  All participantswill be assigned a mentor.  Mentors will provide participants with generalcareer and industry-related advice as well as insight into Deloitte.  Throughout the program, participants will beformally evaluated.  Based on theseevaluations, an opportunity for future employment may be offered.

    • Bachelor of Science/Business Administration, Master of Science in Accounting or Taxation, or JD or LLM Degree (with undergraduate accounting degree)
    • Minimum requirements to sit for CPA exam before beginning full-time employment preferable
    • Strong academic credentials (3.2 GPA recommended)
    • Relevant work experience (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs)
    • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
    • Willingness to contribute as part of our mobile workforce, including travel (potentially for extended periods) and performing work aligned with other Tax service lines and/or other Deloitte function-specific subsidiaries
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
    • Experience using Microsoft Office applications
