Business Analytics Practitioner Role Description

We are seeking broad-based business consultants who wish to specialize in integrating analytics with business strategy. Business analytics practitioners will embrace analytical methods and solutions as core to their client service function. Key job functions include performing data manipulation and analysis and communicating results to clients on both technical and nontechnical levels.

Qualified candidates will possess the following skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and project experience with contemporary statistical and modeling solutions

  • Ability to develop algorithmic coding instructions and understand the essential frameworks of computational analysis that support business strategy decisions, scorecard design, and key performance considerations

  • Relevant core learning and supporting coursework in optimization techniques, business model simulation, benchmarking, numerical analysis, data visualization, and research design analysis

  • Ability to synthesize complex data requirements and business strategy into client-impact messaging

  • Strong oral and written presentation skills

  • Strong work ethic and desire to help clients improve their businesses

  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment and as an individual

  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including overtime

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office products

Additional desired skills include:

  • Project experience with tools for data mining and statistics (SAS, SPSS, Minitab, MATLAB, R, Hadoop, and other leading applications)

  • Project experience with data visualization tools including Tableau, Qlikview and Spotfire, and other leading applications

  • Prior experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, and SQL Server

  • Modeling expertise using statistical techniques such as logistic and linear regression, decision trees, neural network or clustering techniques

  • Strong project management ability
