In order to continue on their current growth trajectory, WireCo is seeking to recruit a Vice President of Global Tax based in their Kansas City, MO corporate headquarters. The candidate we seek for this position will be responsible for developing and designing overall tax planning strategies and assist in their implementation. In addition, this position will be responsible for the oversight of the consolidated tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 and overall domestic and international tax compliance. The VP of Tax is the senior tax professional in the organization and the position will report to the Chief Accounting Officer.

The ideal candidate must be a technical/subject matter expert, strategic, adaptable, diplomatic, politically and culturally astute on a global level, forward thinking, an articulate communicator who is quality oriented, data driven, someone who celebrates successes, uses a common sense approach to business and has a solid overall executive presence. A demonstrated and successful tax background in global manufacturing will be key to success.


• Review tax information (footnotes, disclosures, checklists) for all periodic, quarterly and annual reporting SEC filings (Forms 8-K, 10-Q and 10-K)

• Prepare technical tax accounting memos documenting the Company’s tax accounting position/treatment of tax accounting matters

• Review reconciliations of deferred income taxes, income tax payable and income tax expense accounts and other tax related accounts

• Responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and controls related to accounting for income taxes

• Coordinate and assess uncertain tax positions globally

• Provide income tax accounting support for acquisitions and divestitures

• Oversee the structuring and planning for the creation or reorganizations of international entities

• Tax research and analysis of evolving areas of tax law

• Provide oversight of tax advisors

• Coordinate with business units, Treasury, Legal, Accounting, Supply Chain and other corporate functions

• Oversight of global transfer pricing documentation and internal communication regarding transfer pricing policies.

• Assist with and/or complete ad hoc projects as requested


• Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax from an accredited institution

• Minimum of 15 years of high quality tax experience at Big 4 public accounting and/or corporate tax experience


• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

• Must submit to a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history and educational background.

• Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screen.


A compensation package reflecting the individual’s experience and track record will be offered. It will consist of a competitive base salary, and a bonus which will reward successful performance. A full range of benefits is part of the package. Relocation, if applicable, is provided.
