TITLE: Tax Compliance Manager


REPORTS TO: Director, Tax Compliance and International Accounting


LOCATION: Oxnard, CA


CLASSIFICATION: Regular, Full-time


POSITION PURPOSE:

Reiter Affiliated Companies (RAC), an international berry company, is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Southern California District. We currently have a career opportunity available for a Tax Compliance Manager to be based in our Oxnard district. The position will be headquartered in Oxnard, CA, and will report to the Director, Tax Compliance and International Accounting.


JOB SUMMARY:

The Tax Compliance Manager will play a critical hands-on role in US tax preparation, tax planning and tax compliance throughout the company. This position will also be responsible for the international tax compliance as it relates to US tax reporting.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Lead the completion of tax work papers for the preparation of US tax returns (Sub S Corporations and LLC’s)

• Lead the US tax reporting for foreign entities.

• Support the tax planning process, including schedules and pro forma tax financial statements.

• Conduct tax research when needed.

• Prepare year-end tax provision work papers.

• Lead the completion and filing of all US property tax returns.

• Lead the completion and filing of all the State use tax returns.

• Be responsible for the timely filing of all required business licenses.

• Work with external tax advisors regarding tax matters.

• Special projects and reports as required.

• Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Accounting, MBA a strong preference

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in income tax accounting. General accounting experience a plus.

• CPA certification preferred.

• Oracle and Pro Reporting experience preferred.

• A strong understanding of corporation Sub-S and partnership tax.

• Background in international taxation a definite plus.

• Fluency in English required and Spanish preferred.

• Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation

• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management; utilizing effective written, oral, and presentation skills.

• Ability to create new and unique ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit a plus

• Proficient using standard office software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook

• Must demonstrate outstanding stewardship and relationship building/management skills to expand the mission of Reiter Affiliated Companies

• Must demonstrate ability to take the lead in assigned projects and functions, using appropriate judgments in fulfilling requirements.

• Excellent consulting, problem solving, and analytical skills

• Experience in project management, with skills necessary to interpret what is needed for the success of a project and to create appropriate schedules for timely delivery

• Very high level of organizational and time management skills

• Flexibility in competently juggling competing priorities and changing expectations

• Must demonstrate good judgment and mature business skills
