Job Description:
US Finance and Operations plays a pivotal role in implementing the firm’s business strategy, drives our financial and operational performance excellence to sustain and strengthen the firm’s financial well being, and provides business analytics that help extend PwC’s market competitiveness. There are ten correlated groups within Finance and Operations:

Finance – Controller Operations, LOS Finance, Treasury, Partnership Tax, US Procurement, Internal Audit;
Operations – Meeting & Event Services, Real Estate, Travel, Security

These groups manage the firm’s capital monetary resources; drive budgeting, forecasting, reporting and engagement economics at the partner/business unit level; establish internal controls and processes for cost management; provide a safe and progressive workplace; and provide efficient travel and meeting space so our partners and people can profitably grow our firm.

LoS Finance – Regional and Business Unit (BU) Finance is responsible for executing budgeting and forecasts at the market/region/BU level. Responsible for asset management; i.e., the billings and collections. Oversees engagement economics for individual partners, clients, markets, BU, and region. Manages portfolio for specific partners, markets, clients, BU, and region.

As part of the Assurance Finance organization, the Portfolio Team comprises all Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Senior Associates and Project Team Specialists-Operations. Broadly, across all the staff who comprise the team, their roles focus on analyzing and managing the optimal mix and use of skills, resources and budgets to best achieve the business and revenue goals of the Assurance client service leaders and engagement teams.

Position/Program Requirements:
Knowledge Preferred:

Prior experience leading teams for large, complex markets.

Extensive knowledge of engagement economics, budgeting, forecasting and projections, and resource management and deployment for Assurance engagement teams.

– Drive the decisions that directly impact engagement teams performance and profitability
– Develop and drive the implementation of best practices across region/national
– Implement integrated staffing models for complex and diverse engagements
– Develop and implement continuous improvement plans on engagement economics for all engagements
– Collaborate with Market Team Leaders (MTLs) and Team PoMs to provide guidance to partners on engagement budget tracking
– Provide insight to Market Assurance Leader (MAL) and respective Finance Director/Manger around relevant issues impacting financials
– Oversee market’s monthly cash collection status and work with Team Portfolio Managers (PoMs) to drive partners/managers to create bill plans and drive collections
– Review and analyze Client Portfolio profitability with MTLs and Team PoMs quarterly
– Help drive the hard close process with MAL and Team PoMs, and drive partner engagement
– Analyze Market Dashboards and review/follow-up with Team PoMs and HR as needed
– Lead and/or participate in national cross functional projects, e.g. L&D, HR/Sourcing, and Finance
– Work with National Resource Management Director to drive strategic initiatives.
– Review market projections (resources and hours) to include: synopsis from Team PoMs around variances to prior year, budget and expectations to Finance, MAL and MTL
– Review Phasing & Leverage plan developed by Team PoMs, work with Team PoMs to get progress updates on execution of the Plan
– Organize/develop/review the compilation of various operational templates for review with MAL
– Drive completion of the Partner Demand Budgeting database and reconcile team commitments to the market budget, including: review market internal costs vs. budget and forecasts, communicating irregularities to the MAL and Finance as appropriate
– Drive team utilization and hours goals achievement,, provide insight to MAL, FD and HR on utilization issues and provide potential resolution. Work with Team PoMs to confirm action plans are being carried out.
– Review Partner rotation database reporting for upcoming rotations; partner with MAL on succession planning
– Oversee strategic deployment for Sr. Managers and Managers.
– Manage work/life balance, monitor vacation and hours over capacity reports

Lead, coach and develop staff in a wide variety of areas including but not limited to teaming, professional development, relationship building, leadership skills, strategy and business knowledge.

Possess a strong knowledge of the Firm’s financial systems, policies and business processes and organizational structure.
