Deloitte’s National Federal Tax, Partnership Solutions Group (PSG) is seeking a.Net Programming Senior Manager to be part of a fast-paced, dynamic environment that designs and develops web based solutions for our clients.  PSG is one of the fastest growing tax groups within Deloitte and is projected to have significant growth for the next several years.  We focus on technology driven solutions and work side-by-side with tax professionals to serve the needs our clients.  This is an ideal opportunity to be part of a cutting edge and innovative start-up environment within the larger Deloitte Tax organization.

 

Position Overview

 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for design, analysis, development, implementation, and deployment of new data driven web based applications, as well as providing support for existing systems.  This position requires strong familiarity with .NET technologies, and strong design skills. Previous experience in .Net 3.0 or higher, SQL Server, OOP, XML/XSLT/XPATH, ADO.NET, VB.NET and Web Services is required. Experience in C# is a plus.  This senior programmer should be able to work independently and lead a team of developers to deliver end-to-end web solutions for moderate to complex projects in a fast paced environment.

 

Position – Key Functions

 

·         Develop and maintain the software framework and services using the .NET framework and Microsoft technologies.

·         Interact with business analyst/Client(s) to understand business problem(s) being addressed by the project.

·         Review the requirements and assess the work effort and estimate the necessary time-to-completion.

·         Create unit test plans and scenarios for development unit testing.

·         Work with peers to carry out code reviews and unit testing of new development.

·         Document new development, procedures or test plans as needed.

·         Interact with other development teams to ensure a consistent, uniform approach to software development.

·         Closely follow software development best practices to maximize the predictability and success of project(s).

·         Communicate professionally and effectively to clients, management, and other departments.

·         Prepare technical design documents using enterprise standard documentation tools.

·         Support system testing by following up on and closing defect tickets in a timely manner.

·         Deploy all integration artifacts to a testing and production environments.

 

Qualifications

 

·         At least 8 years experience:

o    Web development in Microsoft technologies (.NET 3.5 or higher)

o    VB.Net, ASP.Net, C#, Ajax, XML/XSLT/XPATH, ADO.net, Object oriented programming

·         Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Business/Technology or similar degree required.

·         Experience with Software Development Life Cycle methodologies.

·         Experience with Microsoft Excel based reporting from web applications.

·         Strong understanding of .NET Fundamentals (Interfaces, inheritance etc.).

·         Experience with web services (1.1 or 2.0). Experience with windows services is a plus.

·         Knowledge of design patterns and architectural patterns.

·         Experience with Visual Studio 2005 and/or 2008.

·         Experience with Source Control – VSS/TFS.

·         Experience with SQL Server 2005 and/or 2008.

·         Experience with database design, querying, stored procedures, views, joins, performance etc.

·         Strong analytic problem-solving, critical-thinking skills.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·         Experience leading small teams; onshore and offshore.

·         Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

·         Ability to work 50 hour work weeks; sometimes more.

·         Ability for some travel.
