This position for Rheem Manufacturing Company is responsible for the accurate and timely filing of federal, state and local income tax returns, estimated tax payments and extensions for Rheem Manufacturing Company and assigned subsidiaries. This position will also be responsible for the international tax reporting requirements of the company in addition to state and federal income tax audits and controversies. The incumbent is expected to have regular contact with Division and Subsidiary Controllers’ staff regarding tax compliance issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

• Assists the Corporate Director of Taxes in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies and other research projects.

• Researches federal and state income issues/current tax legislation and advises tax management of their impact on the Company.

• Completes the tax provision analysis for inclusion of subsidiary companies in the PI US Holding Inc. and Subsidiaries financial statements.

• Analyzes tax liability and reserve accounts and assures that they are accurately reflected in the Company’s financial statements.

• Manages the state income tax audit process by responding to audit inquiries, defending Company filing positions, preparing protests to assessments, working with legal counsel on audits and appeals and attending conferences and administrative hearings in order to resolve disputes.

• Assists in the Federal Income Tax audit process including research and preparation of responses to information document requests.

• Analyzes international transactions of PI US and its subsidiaries and completes all necessary compliance requirements for the group including the Form 1118 – Foreign Tax Credit Calculation and review of Forms 5471 and 5472 Reports of foreign subsidiaries.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

Required Education & Experience:

• Undergraduate degree in accounting from an accredited institution

• Minimum 5 years of accounting generalist experience with a mix of medium to large public and private company exposure

• Minimum 3 years of corporate supervisory tax experience and reviewing federal, state and local income tax returns using a tax software package

• Experience in handling state tax audits and resolving tax issues with minimal supervision

• FAS 109 experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (The knowledge, skills, and/or abilities represented here are those that would be found in a fully competent incumbent of the position. In other words, without this required education/experience, an individual would be unsuccessful at performing the essential functions of the position):

• Ability to understand and interpret income tax laws, regulations, and instructions and apply them in determining federal, state and local income tax filing requirements and liabilities as well as any other effects upon the Company

• Ability to understand the implications of proposed audit adjustments on the Company’s tax liability and recommend favorable resolutions

• Ability to consistently meet compliance deadlines

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization

• Ability to compose responses to taxing jurisdictions in a clear and concise manner

• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, auditors and division accounting groups and effectively respond to tax related questions

• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Power Point and Word

• Strong organizational skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Ability to accurately calculate tax liabilities and percentages

• Ability to create formulas to calculate sums and percentages

Preferred Education & Experience (List all preferred requirements here. The knowledge, skills, and/or abilities represented here are those that would be found in a high-performing incumbent of the position):

• Accounting experience at a “big four” firm

• Experience using the Vantage Tax software system

• Experience using Oracle tax-related modules
