Consultant – MHA / MPH Advanced Degree, Deloitte Consulting LLP

Few initial career opportunities provide the combination of accelerated learning and skill development, personal growth and challenge, and fast pace that are provided by the Senior Consultant and Consultant positions in Deloitte Consulting LLP’s Life Sciences and Health Care industry practice.  Here you will be able to apply your capabilities and talent toward solving complex business issues and seeing your solutions through to implementation.

Our Consultant and Senior Consultant positions are primarily differentiated by the number of years work experience prior to your graduate school studies.  Consultants typically have one to two years of previous work experience, while Senior Consultants have three to four years of relevant work experience.  In these positions, you will take the knowledge you have developed in your graduate studies and prior experience and apply them by working with provider organizations, health plans, and pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device companies.  While you may choose to use your experience by specializing immediately, during your first two to three years you will generally be expected to work on a variety of assignments that reflect the range of services we provide.  You will work as a member of a project team on assignments as diverse as, but not limited to, revenue cycle optimization, operations improvement, merger integration, supply chain strategy, clinical information system selection and implementation, information management strategy, clinical trials, comparative effectiveness, and medical management.

Your responsibilities will include establishing analytical frameworks and conducting complex business analyses, conducting external research and data gathering, managing client and Deloitte Consulting LLP personnel assigned to the project, developing effective relationships with the client, working with the client to help them achieve the benefits of our services, and adding to our organization’s knowledge base from your project experience.

We take your professional development as seriously as you do.  You will work side by side with highly skilled and effective Life Sciences and Health Care consultants from whom you will learn and hone your skills as a consulting professional.  You will be encouraged to take as much responsibility as you can and you will be pushed to accomplish results with our clients that test you.  As your skills and experience grow, you will in turn be expected to mentor people more junior to you as part of your professional development trajectory.

You will receive periodic, intense formal training and professional counseling to complement your academic and project team-based learning.  You will travel to and work mostly at the client site so that our work is implemented in the client environment.  However, we take our community responsibilities seriously, and you will have multiple opportunities to be active in your community and local office via a variety volunteer activities that you can choose to participate in.

We are seeking exceptional individuals from a variety of schools and programs.  Qualified candidates will possess the following characteristics/attributes:

  • Graduation from one of the following programs: MHA, MPH, MHSA, MBA or a MS or MSN with a focus in health informatics
  • Solid history of achievement in school and work
  • Highly motivated to achieve desired goals and objectives
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Leadership and team-building abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility
  • Willingness to travel frequently (required)
