Tax Process Standardization (TPS) ‑ Senior Manager

Deloitte Tax LLP’s National Tax Process Standardization (TPS) team is responsible for the design, development and deployment of standard process use and tools related to the delivery of federal and state compliance services for business & individual clients.  The diverse professionals on the TPS team are focused on enhancing Deloitte’s ability to deliver comprehensive, value-added, and efficient compliance services to our clients.  It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax technical to change management and Six Sigma.  The team consults and executes on a wide range of initiatives involving process and tool development and implementation including training development, engagement management tool design and implementation, standard tax work paper development and online review processes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

As a Senior Manager in our TPS practice, you will be responsible for providing and, in some cases, supervising Engagement Management Office (EMO) support including gathering and documenting engagement requirements, developing and maintaining project plans, monitoring project progress, developing project and financial reporting packages, while developing staff.  You will work with partners and directors, as well as Tax Leadership, to design and deploy engagement management initiatives to our tax practice.  You will have the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic, national team that crosses several regions, as well as a support team in our Hyderabad office.

 

Technical and Professional Responsibilities:

 

• Support Process Standardization Leadership
• Serve as a leader for selected initiatives and/or engagements
• Work with the regional and office infrastructure established to deploy the standard engagement management tools and processes
• Understand the goals of and implement process improvements for the Engagement Management Office
• Develop comprehensive and quality engagement management processes, tools and data throughout the Engagement Life Cycle
• Use project data to develop and distribute regular reporting packages, as well as post project reviews
• Prepare engagement and leadership communications
• Follow-up, prioritize and implement changes to the EMO process and tools
• Team with the Tax Learning group to create, update, and deliver training materials
• Facilitate meetings and the communications process within the TPS team

Qualifications:
 
• At least eight years’ experience including,
• Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field
• Project Management experience, PMP certification preferred
• Understanding of Project Management and/or the Software Development Life Cycle is strongly preferred
• Good working knowledge of tax software systems (GoSystems, Corptax)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, as well as Microsoft Project and SharePoint
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Capable of conducting live and virtual training programs
• Ability to navigate and manage change and ambiguity
• Ability to delegate appropriately and provide timely and effective feedback
• Experience juggling multiple projects with competing priorities
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work in a virtual environment
• Ability for light travel
