Internship Opportunity

Deloitte & Touche LLP has an exciting internship opportunity to work with our Legislative Affairs & Public Policy Group. Throughout the program, the participant will focus on issues shaping and affecting the professional services industry today and in the future. The intern will assist in executing Deloitte’s Legislative Affairs strategy by cultivating and tracking relationships, researching issues, scanning for developments and monitoring the legislative agenda. Current Deloitte staff will serve as mentors to the intern, and formal and informal performance feedback will be provided throughout the program to support the intern’s personal and professional development. Interns will be expected to work a full-time schedule for approximately 8 weeks during the summer.

 

Illustrative Responsibilities:

•        Attend and report on congressional hearings and trade association briefings

•        Track and report media coverage of the professional services industry

•        Provide research on legislative and regulatory issues

•        Assist with events hosted by the Legislative Affairs team

•        Successful progress toward a BS/BA in Political Science, Public Policy/Administration or a similar, relevant field of study; or progress toward an MPP/MPA

•        Strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 3.4)

•        Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and excellent oral and written communication skills

•        Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignment and manage ambiguity

•        Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels

•        Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)

•        Excellent interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, self-directed and independent

•        Strong research skills
