Job Description:
Advisory Hosting Services provides production, development and implementation environments for client engagements both domestically and in Asia. Advisory Hosting Services allows for a flexible, rapidly deployed environment that can be monitored and supported 24×7. The environment allows for usage of non US IT standard technologies and platforms available to internal and external users. There are currently 1 US co-location facilities and 1 in Singapore. Advisory Hosting services also manages technology and strategic direction for US Advisory owned Solution Delivery Centers.

The Unix team for Advisory Hosting Services supports 500+ servers running Solaris and Linux flavored operating systems in 24×7 data centers.

Position/Program Requirements:
Minimum Years of Experience: 2

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of IT experience

Certification Preferred: Red Hat Certification Engineer (RHCE) certification

Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates thorough levels of knowledge of administering, and a proven record of success as a systems administrator leveraging, UNIX systems within a professional business services environment, which includes specializations in the following areas pertaining to hosting services industry:

– Software development methodologies, infrastructure operations and service management principles, leveraging shell scripting (bash,ksh), Linux (multiple flavors like Red Hat, SuSe, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS, Suse), Linux LVM, Apache, Oracle VM, VMware, EMC SAN, and Symantec NetBackup.
– Software installations, applications of patches, management of file systems, performance monitoring, and troubleshoot alerts from commercial monitoring tools;
– Configuration Management tools (i.e. Puppet)

Demonstrates extensive knowledge of and success in roles executing results within a professional services firm and consultative environment, leveraging creative problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot problems and/or issues, while simultaneously developing and offering effective solutions for, business issues related to IT hosting services.

Demonstrates thorough knowledge of industry and IT services pertaining to a professional services business environment, especially how information technology is integrated with business functions and architecture deployed globally.

Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates thorough abilities and success in roles translating business demands into prioritized initiatives to fill business requirements across services and/or projects and managing enterprise-wide UNIX services, including the following areas:

– Management of client requirements, project workflows, and preparing or coordinating complex written and verbal materials related to technical problem solving
– Recognition as an industry professional with UNIX specialization, who maintains an extensive network in the IT and hosting services space and has a demonstrated proven record of leveraging that network to support new opportunities.
