Tax Process Standardization (TPS) ‑ Senior Consultant

 

Deloitte Tax LLP’s National Tax Process Standardization (TPS) team is responsible for the design, development and deployment of standard process and tools usage related to the delivery of federal and state compliance services for business & individual clients.  The diverse professionals on the TPS team are focused on enhancing Deloitte’s ability to deliver comprehensive, value-added, and efficient compliance services to our clients.  It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax technical to change management and Six Sigma.  The team consults and executes on a wide range of initiatives involving process and tool development and implementation including training development, engagement management tool design and implementation, standard tax work paper development and online review processes. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

As a Senior in our TPS practice, primary responsibilities include leading and assisting project teams in the development, deployment and implementation of standardized processes as well as providing expertise and project management.  You will work with partners and directors, as well as Tax Leadership, to design and deploy the initiatives to our tax practice.  You will have the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic, national team that crosses several regions, as well as a support team in our USI offices.

 

Primary responsibility for the first 12 months will be to support Tax Leadership in delivering Deloitte Tax Insight, Deloitte Tax’s new engagement management and collaboration workspace to the practice.  This includes planning, development, deployment, and Regional and Local office support for the broader deployment for all of Deloitte Tax. 

 

 Technical and Professional Responsibilities:

• Support Process Standardization Leadership

• Assist in providing overall guidance and support to all of the initiatives in Operational Excellence

• Work with and support leaders in our national deployment efforts for Deloitte Tax Insight.   Work with all service offerings of Deloitte tax to understand business requirements for Tax Insight and work with technology development team to build the requirements into the technology tool.

• Assist national deployment team in developing test plans and conducting field testing and boot camps to obtain feedback from field resources during pilot phases of deployment and/or new releases

• Develop and deliver practice aids and training materials to facilitate Deloitte Tax Insight deployment 

• Support Regional and Local Office leadership in the delivery and deployment of Deloitte Tax insight

• Work with the regional and office infrastructure established to deploy the standard tools and processes

• Team with the Tax Learning group to create, update, and deliver national training materials

• Assist local offices with trainings when national support is needed

• Team with the Communications group to develop and edit communications

• Facilitate meetings and the communications process within the TPS team

• Assist with maintaining the content on the Compliance site

 

 

Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of public accounting experience or equivalent in law firms or industry

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field

• Knowledge of tax software systems (GoSystems, CORPTax)

• Working knowledge of the Compliance and Reporting Services Methodology, Engagement Management Tools and DCW

• Exposure to federal and state tax compliance and consulting (C-corporations, Partnerships, Individuals, Estate & Gift, Trusts, etc.)

• Executive Presence and professionalism

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Proven abilities to effectively team in ambiguous environments.

• Ability to juggle multiple and competing priorities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

• Ability to work independently

• Ability to work in a virtual environment

• Heavy travel may be required during certain times
