Tax Process Standardization (TPS) ‑Manager

 

Deloitte Tax LLP’s National Tax Process Standardization (TPS) team is responsible for the design, development and deployment of standard process and tools usage related to the delivery of federal and state compliance services for business & individual clients.  The diverse professionals on the TPS team are focused on enhancing Deloitte’s ability to deliver comprehensive, value-added, and efficient compliance services to our clients.  It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax technical to change management and Six Sigma.  The team consults and executes on a wide range of initiatives involving process and tool development and implementation including training development, engagement management tool design and implementation, standard tax work paper development and online review processes. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

As a Manager in our TPS practice, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of the process standardization initiatives. Primary responsibilities include assisting project teams in organizing and managing their engagements, reporting on status of the work and providing analysis of the operational and work plan data. (e.g. milestone reporting, time to complete, budget analysis, issues tracking, change control monitoring etc.).  An understanding of development and technical implementation of standardized processes as well as providing technical expertise is helpful. You will work with partners and directors, as well as engagement teams, to design and deploy the solutions for tax engagements. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic, national team that crosses several regions, as well as professionals in our Hyderabad office.

 

Technical and Professional Responsibilities:

• Assist in providing overall guidance and support to initiatives in Operational Excellence

• Support several of the engagement management office initiatives (i.e., Method Tool, Compliance Software, DOL/Paperless, and related Deployment)

• Work with the engagement teams  to deploy the standard tools and processes

• Work with the engagement teams to draft work plans/project plans

• Team with USI resources to develop and manage SharePoint sites

Qualifications:

 

• 3 to 5 years experience including Big 4 tax  experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field

• Good working knowledge of tax software systems (i.e. GoSystems, CORPTax, or CCH)

• Broad exposure to federal and state tax compliance and consulting (C-corporations, Partnerships, Individuals, Estate & Gift, Trusts, etc.)

• Project management acumen

• Executive presence and professionalism

• Technology proficiency or working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Visio 

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work independently and lead a team

• Ability to work with India counterparts

• Ability to work in a virtual environment

• Some travel may be required

Preferences

• PMP, CPA, or CORPTAX Implementation Certification

• Strong proficiency using MicroSoft Project or SharePoint administration
