National Federal Tax Services (NFTS) is a national practice within Deloitte Tax LLP made up of a number of tax service offerings. Partnership Solutions Group (“PSG”) is a division of National Federal Tax Services (“NFTS”) and is one of the fastest growing practice groups in all of Deloitte Tax. PSG’s practice is split into two primary areas: Investment Management (“IM”) and Energy, Real Estate, and Other Industries (“ERO”). In the IM practice, PSG professionals use proprietary technologies to assist financial services clients in the streamlining of their tax compliance processes, especially with respect to partnership-specific tax calculations, allocations through tiered partnership structures, and Schedule K‑1 preparation. IM professionals deliver their services using our proprietary Internet-based Process and Compliance System (“iPACS”). In the ERO practice, PSG professionals counsel privately held and publicly traded partnerships across the United States on a wide range of federal tax issues involving mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, initial public offerings, post-offering compliance, and process design and improvement. Industries served by the ERO practice include energy (e.g., oil and gas), real estate, telecom, healthcare, media/entertainment, and financial services (e.g., asset management, private equity, and venture capital).
Tax Senior Consultants on PSG’s IM team are involved in large-scale, national projects with major firm clients in a variety of industries. Primary responsibilities for a PSG Tax Senior Consultant on the IM team are to assist with the implementation of proprietary technologies, to provide tax services by utilizing proprietary technology tools, and to coordinate assignments between our US and US-India offices. Emphasis is placed on independence, attention to detail, adaptability, and problem solving. Tax Senior Consultants on the IM team are expected to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of their clients’ businesses and tax systems and are expected to identify and effectively communicate project issues that require the immediate attention of more senior engagement team members.
- Three or more years’ federal tax experience required; partnership tax experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field required; advanced degree preferred (e.g., MST or JD)
- CPA, enrolled agent, or other appropriate certification required (or eligible)
- Big 4 experience or comparable a plus
- Strong research and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Highly disciplined and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to travel
