About PwC International Assignment Services (IAS)

PwC regionalised its IAS practices in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam into a new regional business with effect from 1 July 2007.

The combined business will provide personal and expatriate tax compliance and consulting services; pension and social security compliance and consulting services; international mobility services; employment regulatory compliance and consulting services; immigration services; and employee reward advice and planning.

Job Location: Shanghai,Hong Kong

Job Description & Responsibilities:

* Supervising staff in the preparation and filing of US and Hong Kong individual income tax returns
* Managing client engagements and developing client relationships
* Dealing with enquiries from Inland Revenue Department and Internal Revenue Service
* Advising on individual tax efficiency planning
* Handling personal tax audit and investigation
* Assisting in performing tax compliance reviews, tax costs projection and preparing written advice
* Advising employers on tax and immigration issues for mobile employees

Qualifications and Requirements:

Knowledge Preferred:

*Thorough knowledge of US individual tax planning for employee cross-border movement including foreign national and expatriate issues, foreign tax compliance and the tax equalization process;
*Considerable knowledge of managing international assignee populations of multi-national clients;
*Considerable knowledge of professional service environments and leveraging a worldwide network to best service your clients; and
Knowledge in China individual income tax law would be an advantage

Skills Preferred:

*Comprehensive technical skills in US individual tax compliance and tax planning
*Considerable experience identifying and addressing client needs: building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships and community involvement; communicating value propositions; managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collections; and preparing and/or coordinating complex written and verbal materials;
*Considerable experience as a team leader: supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust; seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation; and coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback;
*Flexible and open-minded; and
*Good interpersonal and communication skills;


*Bachelor degree or equivalent;
*Qualified member of a professional accounting body, such as Certified Public Accountant or Enrolled Agent;
*Minimum five years of relevant experience;
*Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
