Internship Program


The Deloitte & Touche LLP internship provides an introduction to tax.  Throughout the program, participants will focus on issues shaping and affecting the profession today as well as topics related to their own career development. Counseling is another aspect of the Internship Program.  At the end of each engagement, interns will have the opportunity to review their performance with management.  Additionally, staff will serve as “counselors” to this year’s intern group.  Counselors serve as a vital source of information and advice as well as participating in many of the social activities planned for the interns throughout their internship.


Credits and Incentives


The Deloitte Tax State Strategic Tax Review practice is comprised of several sub-groups, including the Credits & Incentives (C&I) team.  C&I is a national practice consisting of more than 40 professionals throughout the country. C&I is looking for a summer intern for our New York Office, or other Deloitte Tax office including Chicago or Dallas.  As an intern within C&I, you will leverage your Accounting, Public Administration/Affairs knowledge to identify opportunities that secure tax incentives for our clients.

  • Develop an understanding of the Deloitte Tax ‘s Credits & Incentives (C&I) services, methodology & research tools
  • Participate in client meetings with the respective tax engagement teams
  • Assist in presenting our services to clients
  • Research and develop the necessary materials for the client meeting
  • Participate in the strategic planning initiatives of the engagements
  • Bachelor of Science/Business Administration or Master of Public Administration/Affairs/Policy, Master of City or Regional Planning, or other similar and appropriate graduate degree with an undergraduate degree in accounting, economics or finance
  • Educational studies including: micro/macro economics, taxation policy
  • Experience with quantitative analysis; financial modeling, cost/benefit analysis, statistics
  • Students interested in the Internship should plan to complete one of the degrees listed above by 2014
  • Strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 3.2)
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels 
  • Willingness to travel for out-of-town engagements
  • If you are seeking a position in a state with the CPA requirement of 150 credit hours, a proactive plan to complete this requirement prior to full-time employment is strongly preferred
